A research into empty space, being alone, and finding what has been hidden in avoidance.
Infinity
A large circle of lights around the building, creating an enormous light animation. Working with the architecture, I love the mirage it created into the space.
When sitting in the space you could look at this endlessly. To me this light animation has an element of catharsis. Driving home as a child at the end of a bizzy day seeing the car lights wiz by on the ceiling. I get a feeling akin to the acceptance I feel after crying.
Broken Building
At the outskirts of my mind there is little guidance. This part of my performance was inspired by the fear I feel when roaming the empty spaces of my mind and heart. The fear of going towards that fear.
It was a cold night in february when these people walked the path to this hollow and broken building.
The Underground
As if a large monster went underneath us that night. The low tones moved through the room along with the volume of light. With 6 speakers in deep basements this spatial audio experiment produced an overwhelming and surrendering feeling.
Mirror Magic
During my time at Ronald Westerhuis's Koelwaterhal, I also got to experiment with his artworks. Turns out they are great for Light Art.
